Who We Can Help
The Biostatistics and Data Support (BDS) Center is a shared resource supporting consultation on statistics and data related to basic, clinical, and translational research. This resource is available to:
- Faculty members in any School at UC Merced
- Graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in participating departments at UC Merced
- Staff members in Public Health Departments within the San Joaquin Valley and nearby Sierra Nevada counties
- Physicians, medical residents, and researchers at healthcare provider organizations (e.g., hospitals, clinics) in the San Joaquin Valley and nearby Sierra Nevada counties
- Staff members at other nonprofit, educational, or government organizations in the region
How We Can Help
The BDS Core’s mission is to assist you by:
- Ensuring experimental designs, study monitoring, and data analyses take advantage of robust, efficient methods that reflect best practices in statistics
- Supporting the development of peer-reviewed grant proposals
- Assisting with analysis plans for pilot and small-scale studies
- Facilitating access to and analysis of secondary datasets
- Facilitating survey research of health care providers and residents in the San Joaquin Valley and Sierra Nevada communities
- Coordinating and providing statistics- and data-based training programs and workshops
- Consulting on project-based statistical analyses and data management
